Redesign
For the redesign, I examined the original box design and its main competitors, Cheez-It and Goldfish. Each brand has a unique approach to their packaging. Inspired by Goldfish, I aimed to create a design that appeals to kids. My concept features a alien hand reaching for the cheese crackers, with a starry background mimicking the holes in the crackers. This way, I wanted to capture a fun and imaginative vibe that makes the product stand out.
The packaging design for "Better Cheddar" is bold and fun, using bright colors and playful graphics to catch the eye. The main background is a vivid blue, which makes the product name stand out. "Better Cheddar" is written in large, white, bold letters, making it easy to read from a distance. Surrounding the text are yellow circles, which represent cheddar crackers, giving a hint about the product inside.
At the bottom left, there’s a green alien hand illustration reaching towards the crackers, which adds a playful touch and makes the design feel more interactive. The tagline “Out of This World” is placed right below the hand, further emphasizing the space theme. The yellow crackers look like they’re floating in space, adding to the fun, outer space vibe of the packaging.
Overall, the design is simple but effective, using a combination of bold colors, playful graphics, and a space theme to appeal to consumers. It gives the impression that this snack is unique, fun, and something different from other cheddar crackers on the market.
